In July 2026, the Oscar-winning actress sparked romance rumors with private equity investor Michael Reinstein after they were spotted getting cozy at a luxury hotel in Italy.

Meanwhile, the “Somebody Like You” singer appears to be growing closer to his longtime friend Jennifer Lopez. According to a recent report from Heat World, the pair—who shared a “flirty” friendship while working together on American Idol—have been “leaning on each other” after their respective high-profile splits from Kidman and Ben Affleck.

Now, insiders claimed that friends of the country music star are encouraging him to take the next step and ask Lopez out.

“Keith and Jennifer actually have a huge amount in common,” a mutual friend said. “They got along so well when they worked together and really developed a great friendship, so – of course – when the news broke out about Keith’s divorce, Jen reached out to offer her support. They’ve been in touch ever since.”

Despite their growing bond, Urban and the “On the Floor” singer, who once described him as “so cute,” have yet to take things beyond the platonic stage.

“At this point, it’s still very much in the friend zone, but it’s no secret Keith thinks that Jen is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous,” the source shared. “The problem is he doesn’t seem to have the guts to make the first move. Whenever his friends tell him he should ask her out, he comes up with excuses.”

This isn’t the first time Urban and Lopez fueled dating rumors. Back in January 2026, an insider revealed to OK! that Lopez “felt a real urge to reach out” to Urban after he and Kidman announced their divorce in September 2025.

“When her own marriage fell apart, the messages of support she received stayed with her, and she hasn’t forgotten how much that compassion mattered,” they continued. “She’s still processing her own pain, which has made her particularly attuned to what it feels like when someone else is facing the collapse of a relationship. But things are now definitely heating up between them – as they are acting as each other’s comfort blanket.”

Urban appreciated Lopez’s efforts, according to another source: “At a time when many people have instinctively taken Nicole’s side, her willingness to offer support has felt especially meaningful. She believes he is fundamentally a good person and has been deeply troubled by what she sees as unfair and damaging attacks on his character.”

By February, multiple sources told New Idea that friends of both Urban and Lopez were “convinced that a serious relationship could flourish” between them.

“People in both their worlds are trying to play matchmaker for them,” one insider explained. “The idea of teaming up for some sort of romantic duet has been suggested as a way to jump-start things. If their would-be Cupids get their way and they do end up taking their friendship to the next level, it could be a really great thing for them on so many levels.”
