What Did Meghan Markle Do at Princess Diana’s Grave?
Meghan Markle sparked controversy shortly after her UK visit in July 2026, allegedly posting a photo of Prince Harry and their kids carrying flowers to the late Princess Diana’s final resting place. She shared the picture with her 4.7 million Instagram followers, and it faced immediate backlash. Sources recently told RadarOnline that royals fans have dubbed the Duchess of Sussex’s move a “vulgar” publicity stunt.
An insider revealed that Prince William was furious with his sister-in-law’s post, saying, “The fact they shared a photo of the children on the grounds of Diana’s family home has enraged William, and he says it’s so obvious it was done to get headlines and that sickens him.”
“He doesn’t have any objection to Archie and Lilibet paying their respects to their late grandmother,” they continued. “But in his view, to turn it into a publicity grab is just vulgar and beyond disrespectful, and he’s incredibly sad that they would stoop this low.”
According to the source, William “finds it very hypocritical” and believes it “proves nothing has changed” with Meghan and Harry. He’s also reportedly not the only one feeling this way, as King Charles was said to be “genuinely shocked” by Meghan’s decision to post about the alleged family trip to Diana’s grave.
“This has upset people who normally defend Meghan,” a royal source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “The backlash isn’t just coming from her critics anymore.”
A second insider noted, “Even people who usually refuse to comment on Harry and Meghan are wincing. The feeling is that some family moments are simply too sacred to share.”

This development follows reports that Meghan and Harry were seen filming at the grave site for a documentary tied to the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. Sources alleged to RadarOnline that “recording equipment” was spotted at the scene.
“There was a clear awareness that elements of the visit could be captured for a future project like a Netflix documentary from Harry, or social media posts, which has unsettled members of the family,” one insider claimed.
Another added, “This was meant to be a moment of reflection, but there were worries it might be reframed for a wider audience.”
The documentary speculation has apparently upset William, as he “feels strongly that certain spaces should remain entirely private, especially given their personal significance.” He’s also reportedly less than thrilled with Harry and Meghan wanting to work with Netflix on the rumored documentary.
“As everyone knows he hates Netflix with a passion, just like all the royals do back in England because of The Crown and the way they were portrayed on the show,” a source explained to National Examiner. “The show completely trashed their grandfather and essentially accused him of being a cheating dog, and it gave a very nasty portrayal of their father too.”
They stated, “It sickens William that his own brother would work with them at all, let alone on something related to their beloved mother.”
“[Harry] knows exactly how his brother feels about Netflix, so the fact that he’s going ahead with this is such a slap in the face,” the insider pointed out. “It’s like nothing is sacred with him when it comes to the almighty American dollar. … If there was even a sliver of hope for reconciliation after these peace talks, this has just totally blown that.”
