Taylor Swift Wedding Guest Accused of Wearing White to Ceremony

It’s been less than a week since Taylor Swift tied the knot with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, yet Swifties are already voicing some strong opinions about a few of the wedding guests.

On Saturday, July 4, one of Swift’s dancers, Tori Evans, posted an Instagram video showing off her and her husband’s outfits for the big day. The clip opens with Evans in a white robe and eye masks before a clever transition reveals her in her wedding attire: a light-colored strapless gown with a matching scarf.

The outfit quickly drew backlash, with many fans of the “Love Story” singer slamming Evans for wearing a white/off-white dress. Traditionally, it’s considered poor etiquette for wedding guests to wear white or similar shades, as this can take attention away from the bride.

“White to Taylor Swift‘s wedding is insane,” one fan wrote in the comment section, while a second Instagram user said, “Out of all the colors, did you have to wear white?”

“Beautiful couple. Stunning attire. However… It is surprising that basic wedding etiquette seems to be overlooked by so many guests,” a third person noted. “As a guest, white should not be worn. Off-white should also be avoided. Traditionally, shades such as champagne and red are likewise discouraged, as they can draw attention away from the bride. Unless, that is the intent.”

They continued, “If you felt comfortable with your choice, that is certainly your prerogative, and I respect your confidence. However, I can also guarantee that many women at that wedding were discussing it, and a number of them were likely disappointed by the decision considering you are close to Taylor.”

After numerous comments criticizing Evans’ outfit, her husband, TJ Shaw, responded in the comments, clarifying, “DRESS IS PINK CHAMPAGNE color for everyone that doesn’t understand lighting 😂”

Still, Swifties weren’t letting up. “Even if it’s pink but it’s so close to white lol why choose that colour to wear at someone’s wedding 💍?” one commented.

“If you have to explain that ‘it’s not white, it’s pastel/cream/champagne shade],’ then the color is too close to the red line,” another fan added.
