My most-recent fashion purchase: a pair of subtle cat-eye sunglasses. Call me a sheep, a copy-cat, a mindless follower – but when Zoë Kravitz makes a fashion move, I will typically follow suit. A constant presence on my Pinterest boards, her style is the blueprint: always chic and polished, while somehow also a little undone. In simple terms, she’s just unbelievably cool. Like all cool people and things, I may never be able to fully articulate the formula for Kravitz’s je ne sais quoi. If Kravitz is wearing sunnies, there’s around 80 per cent chance (disclaimer: pure spitballing) that they’ll be some variation of this shape. It’s easy to see why she loves them. A subtle cat-eye is easy to style with any outfit – jeans, a summer dress, or even a gown – just as flattering as a more angular frame, without the in-your-face statement. What’s more, it’s super adaptable. The only thing that really defines the look is a slight upward turn towards the outer corners of the frames, which means the shape can be applied to oval sunnies, sporty frames and bug-eyed glasses, to name a few. And guess what? Kravitz has pretty much worn them all.
