Prince Harry’s Response to Buckingham Palace Snub

Prince Harry is now in the UK. That much we know. And though some reports indicated he would be visiting with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, security issues kept Markle and the kids home, making this a solo trip for Harry.

How’s Harry feeling about the visit? Per a report shared by People, Harry’s spokesperson said, “He’s really happy to be back in the U.K. and really looking forward to this week’s engagements.”

The Duke of Sussex will take part in the one-year-to-go celebrations for the next Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham, England, in July 2027. He is also making appearances for patronages such as Scotty’s Little Soldiers and WellChild.

On Monday, July 6, Harry attended the premiere of longtime friend Misan Harriman’s documentary Shoot the People.

There are no reports about where exactly Harry is staying while in the UK. He had been offered to stay at Buckingham Palace, an offer that was reportedly “withdrawn” after Harry accepted. Per Harry’s spokesperson, the expected July 7 decision in Harry’s case against Associated Newspapers Limited is the reason why the offer to stay at the palace was rescinded.

Harry’s spokesperson called the decision “disappointing” and said that the offer was withdrawn “at the last moment.” The palace, however, says that Harry missed the deadline to accept the offer.

It is not known whether Harry will still meet with his father, King Charles, while in the UK.

Before Harry arrived, Rob Shuter had reported that the “humiliating last-minute reversal” completely “destroyed any remaining hope of a family reconciliation.” And the whole thing has left Meghan Markle reportedly furious and feeling like there’s no way back.

“This was one insult too many,” a source told Naughty But Nice. “Meghan feels they’ve bent over backwards for Harry’s family, only to be embarrassed again. As far as she’s concerned, she’ll never see them again.”

Some insiders said that Harry first said no, then changed his mind. But after consulting with King Charles, palace officials said no, citing staffing and logistical requirements.

“Harry kept changing his mind,” one insider said. “Eventually, the Palace simply said, ‘Forget it.’ They weren’t going to keep rearranging everything at the last minute.”

Reportedly, Meghan is frustrated that Harry keeps giving chances to his family to hurt him. “Meghan warned Harry this would happen,” the source explained. “She believes every time he reaches out to his family, they find another way to reject him. She’s done. She has no interest in ever putting herself—or her children—through this again.”

“Any hope of rebuilding trust has just disappeared,” the insider added. “For Meghan, there’s simply no coming back from this.”
