Oprah Rejects Harry & Meghan Offer to Do a 2nd Interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to the UK included a long-awaited meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The couple, who stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, are reportedly making an effort to repair their ties with the monarchs—but the same can’t be said for a former “trusted ally.”

According to sources who spoke with royal insider Rob Shuter, Harry and Meghan have “floated the idea” of another televised sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey to discuss their reconciliation with the royal family. However, the media mogul—who hosted their landmark 2021 special—has no interest in revisiting royal drama.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - APRIL 16: Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex take part in the Scar Tree Walk on day three of the royal trip on April 16, 2026 in Melbourne, Australia. The Scar Tree Walk is a journey connecting traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures and histories of the Kulin Nation. The royal couple are on a four-day visit to Australia, with engagements across Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 12: HRH Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte on day fourteen of The Championships Wimbledon 2026 at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on July 12, 2026 in London, England; CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND - JULY 20: King Charles III speaks as he unveils a plaque during his visit to Cambridge Central Mosque on July 20, 2026 in Cambridge, England.

“Harry and Meghan would love a Part Two,” a media insider told Naughty But Nice. “They’re talking again because they both have projects to promote, and they know interviews generate headlines. They hoped Oprah might be interested in a fresh chapter about healing. She isn’t.”

Insiders claimed that Harry believes his attempts to reunite with his father, 77, have “changed the story.” Meanwhile, Meghan’s reportedly eager to “reshape public perception” as she grows her business portfolio. Still, Oprah is uninterested.

“Oprah took plenty of criticism after the first special,” another source explained. “She has absolutely nothing to gain by stepping back into the royal drama. As far as she’s concerned, that story has been told.”

They added, “She’s not going back there. If Harry wants to promote Invictus or Meghan wants to plug her jams, that’s their business. Oprah doesn’t want to become part of their publicity strategy.”

Harry and Meghan’s wish for a second Oprah interview comes amid speculation that their meeting with Charles was motivated by financial issues. Insiders alleged to RadarOnline that the pair recognizes their royal status as their “biggest asset” and believe that burying the hatchet with the royals could help improve “the value of their personal brand after a difficult few years commercially.”

As one source put it, “There is no escaping the financial reality of the situation. The entertainment industry is incredibly competitive, and some of the opportunities that once came so easily are no longer there. Many believe the Sussexes understand that maintaining a civil relationship with the monarchy is increasingly important if they want to strengthen their long-term prospects. Whether that motivation is personal, commercial, or a combination of both is what people inside the Palace continue to debate.”

A separate insider went as far as to say “the Sussexes want back in the royal family as they fear their lifestyle may go bankrupt.”
