Keith Urban’s Response to Nicole Kidman Dating Michael Reinstein

Moving on after a divorce is always hard, and there’s always an element of trying to prove you’re better off afterwards to any new relationship. It’s human nature, and celebrities are not immune to this feeling. And this is especially true when the divorce wasn’t exactly a joint decision.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce came with reports that it was Urban who made the decision, while Kidman wanted to work on the marriage. So, of course, now that Nicole Kidman and her new boyfriend Michael Reinstein have been seen together out in public, the question in everyone’s mind is: genuine or message?

Kidman was photographed getting into Reinstein’s Ferrari after landing in Los Angeles, just weeks after the two were first spotted together in Portofino.

“Nicole has spent decades proving she knows exactly when she wants to be seen and when she doesn’t,” one Hollywood insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “When pictures like these surface, people in the business immediately wonder whether they’re part of the message.”

And they say the audience is clear.

“Keith Urban was always going to see those photos,” another source said. “Nicole is still deeply hurt by everything that happened. Friends say she’s moving on, but that doesn’t mean the pain has disappeared. If Keith saw her looking happy, glamorous, and being treated well, nobody around her thinks that’s the worst thing in the world.”

It’s not about fixing things, sources say. “She hopes he feels a little sting,” the source added. “Not because she wants him back, but because she wants him to understand exactly what he lost. After everything she’s been through, she believes he’s earned that feeling.”

“This looked less like two people dodging cameras and more like the premiere of Nicole’s next chapter,” another source said. “The Ferrari, the airport pickup, the perfectly framed photos—it all felt cinematic.”

All of it comes after reports that Urban wasn’t taking proof that his ex moved on well. “Up until now he still had hopes there might be a chance at a reconciliation. He’s absolutely devastated and is going through that feeling of deep loss all over again,” an insider told New Idea magazine.

“It has sent him into a tailspin, and all his friends are keeping a close eye on him. Everyone knows how upset he is, but they’re not going to let this get to him.”

Sources say this has hit Urban so hard that we might see him “step out with a revenge romance of his own.” He’s been linked to several female musicians since the two split, though there has been no confirmation.

There have also been rumors about his closeness with Jennifer Lopez. “Keith and Jennifer actually have a huge amount in common,” a source told Heat World U.K. “They got along so well when they worked together and really developed a great friendship, so – of course – when the news broke out about Keith’s divorce, Jen reached out to offer her support. They’ve been in touch ever since.”

Urban and Lopez are reportedly just friends right now.
