Edo Mapelli Mozzi Responds to Princess Beatrice Divorce Rumors

The scandal surrounding the former Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has left their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, in a very complicated spot. They’re trying to separate themselves from their parents and stay on good terms with the royal family, but neither seems inclined to cut off their parents for good. And this has reportedly also put a strain on both their marriages.

With Eugenie having just welcomed a new baby, all eyes have turned to Beatrice and the state of her marriage. And her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, recently discussed his family in a rare chat during a Gentleman’s Journal Q&A at a Long Summer Lunch event in Britain.

When asked to describe his perfect vacation, Mapelli Mozzi said, “Getting off the beaten track, disconnecting from emails and news, and spending time with my family.”

He also said the biggest luxuries were “experiences” and “travel,” adding “time with family and friends” was his favorite way to relax, per RadarOnline.

This comes after the outlet also reported that Beatrice’s 2026 birthday plans were a lot more lowkey. “This birthday will be a world away from the extravagant celebrations Beatrice has enjoyed in the past, and far more gloomy. The atmosphere around the York family has changed enormously over the last year, and she has no desire for a high-profile party or anything that could become a media spectacle,” a source said.

“Her focus is on marking the occasion quietly with her husband, immediate family and a small circle of trusted friends. She recognizes the family remains under intense scrutiny, and she feels this is the right time to keep the emphasis on private moments rather than public celebrations,” the source continued.

And though Mapelli Mozzi didn’t say anything about the state of the marriage, Closer recently reported that he and Beatrice were having some issues. “Edo wants Beatrice to draw a line in the sand with her parents. From his perspective, creating some distance is the only thing to do right now if they want to save their own skins, but Beatrice isn’t willing to do it,” the report said.

Beatrice reportedly doesn’t agree. “Despite everything that’s happened, she still feels a deep sense of loyalty to her parents, she’s not willing to turn her back on them and she resents Edo for even suggesting it,” the source said. “To him it’s a matter of survival and he’s telling friends she’s making a huge mistake, he’s clearly pretty angry about it so unless one of them suddenly changes course, it could cause some serious problems within their marriage.”

Could this be a breaking point for Beatrice and her parents? “Beatrice is panicking and has told friends she’s worried that he’s pulling away. She’s saying this is all her parents’ fault, that things were perfect between her and Edo before they turned the family name radioactive. She says they’ve ruined nearly every aspect of life and now it’s threatening her marriage,” they added, noting that “things between her and Edo are hanging by a thread.”
