Are Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Already Married Amid Wedding News?
After all that, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may already be married. A source claimed to Page Six in a report published on July 2 that the singer and football player “already got legally married” in Nashville, Tennessee, where Taylor has two homes.
The source also confirmed that Taylor and Travis did not get married in New York State (where she also has a home and primarily lives), as New York State marriage licenses are sealed. A New York State marriage license is valid for 60 days, with a 24-hour waiting period before a ceremony can be legally performed. (Although, it is possible to receive a judicial waiver to avoid that.)
While Page Six’s first source claims that Swift and Kelce’s wedding was just a legal ceremony, another source told the publication that the couple had a small celebration in Tennessee, where Swift moved to when she was 14 years told to start her music career. According to a website that tracks Swift’s private jet, her plane made several stops on Sunday, June 28, to cities where close family members live. After leaving Nashville, she flew to Philadelphia, where Travis’ dad, Ed, lives. The state is also where Travis’ brother, Jason, and his sister-in-law, Kylie, live. Then the plane flew to Tampa, where Taylor’s dad, Scott, lives, before it returned to Nashville. It remained in Nashville until June 30 when it returned to New York City, Taylor’s primary residence.
All of these details come out amid speculation that her rumored wedding at Madison Square Garden was a “decoy” to prevent the press, paparazzi, and fans from discovering her true ceremony.
Global Technologies CEO Anthony Jabin, who claimed he was a plus one of a woman who was invited to the wedding, hinted that he also believed the MSG plan was a “decoy” to disguise the truth in an interview with TMZ on July 1. “Well, I’m not allowed to disclose it, but it’s not what everyone thinks. It’s a little bit of a surprise going on,” he said. “There’s a decoy… they don’t want everybody to really know where it is.”
A source also told Rob Shuter’s “Naughty but Nice” Substack at the time that guests were frustrated with Taylor’s “secrecy.” “People aren’t angry—they’re annoyed,” the insider said. “The message they’re hearing is, ‘We don’t trust you enough to tell you where you’re going.’ That’s frustrating when you’ve rearranged your entire schedule to celebrate the couple.”
The source added, “Taylor and Travis are taking the secrecy too far. Everyone understands wanting privacy, but at some point it starts feeling like they don’t trust the very people they’re inviting.”
Another insider also complained about the lack of information around the event. “It’s a wedding, not a Middle East peace summit,” the source said. “People have kids, jobs, businesses, and travel plans. They’re being asked to block off two full days and just wait for instructions. Guests are frustrated.”
