8 Autumn Nail Colours That Will Headline 2026

We love the different moods the seasons can bring. Case in point? The autumn nail colours, which never fail to bring us cosy, rich, expensive shades to hug our nails until things warm back up.

In terms of the shades we gravitate toward, there tends to be a similar shift each year (burgundy and black cherry are a classic for a reason), as well as some offbeat colours in there to keep things interesting (look to Hailey Bieber’s recent mani for inspo). Neutrals switch up from milky pinks to black and off-blacks, although this season’s major headliner, brown, offers a warmer alternative. And, for the non-committal, the colour combo trend which brings together three or four of the top-trending autumn shades, might be more your speed.

We spoke to the celebrity nail artists responsible for coining and leading the trends to get their take on the autumn nail colours we should have on our radar for 2026.

Brown

Brown has been a trending shade for the last few autumn seasons, but it’s only growing in popularity. It offers a whole spectrum of options but “rich espresso is going to be a defining shade of autumn,” says top celebrity manicurist and OPI Global Ambassador, Zola Ganzorigt, who counts Hailey Bieber, Blackpink’s Jennie and Kylie Jenner as clients. “It’s the perfect neutral for the season,” she explains.

“Chocolate and espresso brown will remain strong,” confirms leading celebrity nail artist, Michelle Humphrey, whose clients include Dua Lipa, Simone Ashley and Charli XCX. “Brown has become the softer alternative to black – it still feels rich and dramatic but is incredibly wearable and neutral,” says Michelle. “As a general guide, warmer skin tones suit warmer, red-toned browns, while cooler skin tones work beautifully with cooler, more blue-toned browns,” she says.
