Do Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Have a Divorce Plan?

Celebrity divorce rumors are inevitable, especially for high-profile couples like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The pair, who wed in 2018 and share two children, have repeatedly shut down ongoing chatter of marital issues and potential divorce—but the speculation lives on.

In fact, Buckingham Palace is reportedly preparing for the possibility of Harry returning to the royal fold without Meghan. RadarOnline recently reported that the two are leading “increasingly separate lives.” Harry is focusing his energy on reconciling with his family in England, while Meghan is building a life and career for herself in California. She’s made it clear she has zero interest in moving back to England, leaving them with different plans for the future. No wonder divorce speculation is running rampant.

Now, according to a royal source, the palace is said to be “quietly drawing up contingency plans in the event of a split.” An alleged agreement might see the royals taking “extreme measures” to keep the Suits alum satisfied in the event of a divorce while she remains in the U.S.

“The agreement would also grant Meghan the continued use of her Duchess of Sussex title,” the insider explained. “The Palace sees it as a face-saving measure, because tearing it away from her could spark a media war.”

Despite this alleged plan and some hoping that Harry and Meghan split, there’s one person who’s rooting for them: King Charles.

“This isn’t about trying to come between Harry and Meghan; in fact, contrary to what a lot of people might think, King Charles is actually rooting for them,” the source revealed. “He wants Harry to know that, if he ever reaches a point where he’s overwhelmed or confused, there’s no judgment waiting for him; he’ll be there to listen and offer whatever wisdom he can.”

They continued, “He knows he can’t advise Harry on the Hollywood side of life or the business decisions he and Meghan are making, but relationships are another matter.”

Shortly after Harry and Meghan’s UK visit in July 2026, royal insider Rob Shuter echoed claims that they’re living separate lives. A source told Naughty But Nice, “It’s gone beyond work schedules. They have different priorities, different routines, and they’re spending much less time together than people realize.”

Additional insiders suggested that Harry and Meghan’s solo engagements are a sign of trouble in paradise. “When Harry is on his own, he seems like a different person,” one noted. “He’s more relaxed, more spontaneous, and much more like the prince people remember. Friends have noticed the change.”

“Nobody knows what will happen next,” a second source added. “But people around them aren’t talking about whether they’re spending time apart anymore. They’re wondering whether this marriage can survive it.”
