“People are actively planning how they want to show up, and we’re seeing a real appetite for personality-driven dressing that mixes references rather than committing to one aesthetic,” Sydney Stanback, Global Head of Trends & Insights at Pinterest, tells Glamour. “Grannycore and XXL suiting are pulling in opposite directions, with one leaning on nostalgia and analogue and the other bringing a more dramatic style.”
And we’re apparently not waiting for the temperature to drop before shopping accordingly. According to new LTK data, creator posts featuring plaid jackets are up 600%, while silk skirts have seen the same increase. Searches for ’90s mid-rise denim are up 200%, and double-breasted blazers are already among the platform’s UK bestsellers.
Perhaps that’s the real takeaway for autumn: you don’t need an entirely new fashion personality, just a few new ways to mess with the one you already have. The granny skirt can stay. It might just be getting an enormous blazer for company.

Hemlines are heading south again. Oversized wide-leg denim was prominent across the A/W 2026 runways. Puddle jeans – long, loose denim that deliberately pools around the shoe – feel like the natural antidote to several years of skinny jeans and straight-leg styles. The appeal is in the nonchalance: wear them with a slim knit or tiny tee up-top, then let pointed-toe boots or trainers disappear almost completely underneath. Just maybe avoid actual puddles.
