What is NikeSkims?

NikeSkims is an activewear line launched back in September 2025, and stocked on both the Nike and SKIMS websites. It’s inspired by the strength of female athletes, and dedicated to women’s movement in all its many forms.

When I previewed the first collection in person, made up of stylish sports bras and black leggings with a twist, I was struck by how premium everything felt and looked. Back then, the brand stuck with a neutral colour palette, the first collection entirely black, and the second featuring separates in multiple neutral hues, available in various finishes: everything from super-shiny to compressive matte to breathable mesh.

And athletes are fans too. “I’m an athlete, but I love fashion too. It’s important for me to express myself, and I love how wearing NikeSKIMS allows me to do that,” says Jordan Chiles, an Olympic and world-champion gymnast. “The NikeSKIMS product is a game-changer. I love the quality, how it moves with me and supports me in all the right areas. I feel sleek, comfortable and completely myself.

“Wearing NikeSKIMS makes me feel confident and unrestricted,” Sha’Carri Richardson, an Olympic and world-champion sprinter, adds. “I feel fierce knowing I can look and feel this good while working hard.” The collection even gets Serena Williams’ cosignature. “It feels like butter on your skin,” she said.

What’s the difference between NikeSkims Drops 1, 2 and the Studio Edit 02?

On the day NikeSkims Drop 1 launched, it became clear that this partnership wasn’t a one-off. Instead, fans discovered an entirely new label combining the DNA of both brands. That collection featured an expansive selection of seven sub-collections (three core and four seasonal) with 58 silhouettes, all available in every size between XXS and 4X.

The second drop featured 65 silhouettes, including sculpting, cold-weather essentials that could carry you from the studio to brunch and then to the slopes. The star of the collection? The Wrap Coat, designed to be a winter coat that could also be layered over activewear.

Studio Edit 02, though, marks a bigger shift, the brand offering new styles, new fabrics — which Stretch Knit is back, Satin Shine is fresh for 2026 — and new colours.

How many NikeSkims core collections are there?

There are three core collections that have remained present in drops one, two and three (although this one is titled, a tad confusingly, Studio Edit 02). These are Matte, Shiny and Airy. The seasonal collections for drop one were Vintage Seamless, Matte Tricot, Weightless and Shiny Nylon, and the seasonal collection for drop two was Woven Nylon. This time round, it’s Satin Shine, fitted with moisture-wicking tech and four-way stretch, but also smart enough to wear socially. Stun.

Whatever drop and collection you’re shopping from, the pieces are stocked in a plethora of colours, and sizes run from 2XS through 4XL.

At the heart of the Matte collection are sweat-wicking daily essentials that have been designed with routine wear in mind – grabbing a coffee, the airport run, etc. – while the Shine collection has been designed with weight training in mind. They’re sweat-wicking and breathable, and – you guessed it – with a shine finish. The Airy collection features knits which can be layered atop other activewear pieces in the collection.
