9 Best Strapless Bras for Large Breasts 2026, Reviewed
Common FAQs on bras for big busts, answered:
Why does my strapless bra keep slipping down?
“If your strapless bra keeps slipping down, it’s usually a sign that the band isn’t the right fit,” explains Emily Blount, Product Director at Lounge. “Many people assume the cups are the most important part of a bra, but with a strapless style, most of the support comes from the band. It should feel firm and secure around your ribcage without digging in, as it’s designed to offer support and shape to the bust without the need for shoulder straps.
“Features such as a wider supportive band, silicone grip detailing, moulded cups and underwiring all work together to create lift, shape and stability. When the fit is right, the bra should feel comfortably secure, enhance your natural silhouette and remain virtually invisible under clothing, allowing you to move with confidence all day.”
The right bra won’t slip down, so keep kissing frogs and trying strapless bras specially designed for a fuller bust until you find your perfect lingerie fit.
What makes a strapless bra suitable for large breasts?
“For bigger boobs, the most important part of any strapless bra is the fit,” reveals Michelle Hibberd, Bravissimo’s Customer Service Team Manager. “Your back band should feel firm, secure and comfortable, as without straps all the support comes from the back band. Features like structured padded cups, silicone strips around the band to keep the bra in place, and comfort features like cushioned hook-and-eye closures are all great things to look out for to ensure the most comfortable and supportive fit.”
Should I buy the same size strapless bra as my regular bra?
“Absolutely, when it comes to your strapless bra, you should be the same size as your regular bra,” explains Zoe Price-Smith, Boux Avenue’s Chief Design & Product Officer. She also mentioned that 81% of women are wearing the wrong bra size, so it’s important to get fitted regularly, either by a professional or at home.
“To ensure the best fit and stay put power, there are a few components you will want to consider when buying a strapless bra,” Price-Smith continues. “Believe it or not, but most of a bra’s support (a whopping 80%) comes from the underband. When it comes to a strapless style, you want to ensure that the underband can provide more than the average 80% support. So to ensure you are getting the best look and support, you are looking for a strapless bra constructed with a wider, reinforced underband and a deeper hook-and-eye fastening (three hooks down, not two — that’s your insider tip), providing that much-needed extra support.”
What cup styles work best for larger breasts?
The best cup styles for larger breasts prioritise both lift and support, often relying on structured, seamed, and multi-part construction. Full-cup, balconette, and side-support styles help distribute weight more evenly while keeping you comfortable, supported, and securely in place. Strapless bras for D+ cups can be harder to find, but if you focus on coverage, it should be doable.
Meet the experts:
How I test the best strapless bras for big busts:
At Glamour, it is of utmost importance that we provide our readers with independent, honest and trustworthy reviews.
I start by calling in samples from a range of brands to put each style through its paces and see which ones genuinely deserve a recommendation. I test strapless bras across different price points, shapes, colours, and support levels, because the “perfect” bra is incredibly subjective. I aim to find options that work for different bodies, preferences, and budgets, because everyone deserves underwear that makes them feel comfortable and confident. I also get friends with different larger cup sizes to try each bra, so I can see if it works for them.
Each bra was worn at least three times, and was reviewed against the following criteria:
| Functionality | Did the bra stay put, provide ample support and deliver the desired shape? Did I have any issues in terms of slipping, spillage or twisting? Did it have side-boning to aid with shaping and a wide band to boost my comfort? |
| Design | Is the bra aesthetic and comfortable? How many options do I have in terms of colour and pattern? And what was each bra made of? Are the materials sustainable and breathable? Did it wash well? |
| Price point | Would I be willing to spend that much again? Is it of good quality? |
| Delivery | How quickly did the bra arrive, and what were the associated costs? |
I also tried them underneath close-fitting t-shirts, white shirts, and summer dresses to see whether they were noticeable and delivered a flattering lift. This can be especially tricky when it comes to strapless bras for bigger breasts.
Where I haven’t yet had the chance to personally review a style myself, I asked my colleagues for their recommendations and scoured countless customer reviews for points of note. Of course, only the bras that impressed all around made it into this edit – and sadly, the following didn’t make the cut:
Why you can trust me:
Just like Carrie Bradshaw, I know two things: fashion and sex. Well, in my case, sex toys — but close enough. These days, though, my attention has turned to another intimate essential: underwear.
From cotton underwear and sports bras to period pants and barely-there lingerie, there’s never been a better time to shop for undergarments. The category has exploded with innovation, offering more styles, sizes, and solutions than ever before. Whether you’re searching for practical everyday staples or something a little more special, the options can feel endless.
To stay on top of the latest launches, I regularly attend industry events, interview designers and brand founders, and put new products to the test myself. Over the years, I’ve learned exactly what separates a genuinely supportive bra from one that only looks good on the hanger.
As someone with a larger bust, I also know the frustrations firsthand. I’ve sprinted for buses while desperately hoping everything stays in place, and I’ve spent far too much time tugging up strapless bras that promised support but delivered disappointment. Finding styles that are both comfortable and flattering can feel like an impossible task, which is exactly why I take testing them so seriously.
