What’s Harry & Meghan’s Relationship With Camilla?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are gearing up for their first trip to the U.K. in four years, but it seems not all members of the royal family will be welcoming them with open arms.

The Daily Express is reporting that Queen Camilla will be “steering well clear” of the couple during their visit. “Camilla is not going to be around when they [the Sussexes] arrive,” said the outlet’s Carole Malone on the Daily Expresso show. “I don’t blame her, because Harry slagged her off big time.”

An earlier report from The Times indicated that Camilla’s “unlikely to get involved” in any meetings with Harry and Meghan and intends to “deliberately avoid them” by staying at her Ray Mill house in Wiltshire.

Camilla’s decision isn’t surprising given Harry’s harsh remarks about her in his 2023 memoir, Spare, where he opened up about their complicated relationship and revealed that he and Prince William initially begged King Charles not to marry her.

In a 2023 interview on 60 Minutes, Harry accused Camilla of cooperating with British tabloids to repair her public image, which he said contributed to negative press about him and Meghan. He even went as far as to call Camilla “dangerous” and “the villain.”

“There was open willingness on both sides to trade information,” Harry explained. “And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there were going to be people or bodies left in the street.”

Despite the tension, King Charles reportedly plans to open the doors to Buckingham Palace to Harry, Meghan, and their two kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. This comes after the couple failed to arrange a meeting with Charles during his and Camilla’s official state visit in April, allegedly because Camilla didn’t want to see them.

At the time, a source close to Harry told RadarOnline, “Harry feels like he is at war with Camilla again, and he believes it could completely derail any chance of repairing things with his father.”

The source added that Harry sees Camilla “as a major obstacle,” adding that he’s “fuming” and “feels this situation risks pushing any possible reunion with Charles further out of reach.”
